Release #1: Hopsteiner Experimentals

Made in collaboration with Hopsteiner, and their Lead Scientist of Variety Developments and Bioinformatics, Nicholi Pitra. The experimental hops used were grown at Golden Gate Farms. While we’ve gotten our hands on quite a few experimental hops in the past, this was the first time we brewed with any of these.

”Spicy, herbal, and dry.”

Tasters described this beer as having peach & guava aromas, with a light herbal finish.

”Peach and apricot.”

Tasters described this beer as having notes of papaya, apricot, and peach.

Described by breeder Nicholi Pitra as
”Mango, lemon, punchy bitterness.”

Tasters described this beer as having notes of mango, light citrus, and a present bitterness.

Both our SampleOx ratings & our in-person voting showed a close race between the 15598 & 17704 variations, but the 17701 ran away with the highest overall score. One reviewer stated:
